This is how Skyler starts all his prayers. We try to say them every night at bedtime. Now, he likes mommy and daddy to each say a prayer too. It's so interesting to listen to him. You think how much can a three year old be thankful for, but he manages to come up with quite a list. Things like: Thank you for the chair in my room, thank you for the chair to sit in to read my books, thank you for the door that opens and so on. It makes me thinks about when we think about things we are thankful for how hard it is to come up with things. It shouldn't be, we have wonderful families, a roof over our heads, a great church, wonderful friends, money to pay the bills even if there is not much left over, food on the table, cars that work well. Sometimes we forget to thank God for the little things and are wanting bigger things.
It just makes me think that God is with us all the time and we have SO much to be thankful for. We need to take time to just sit down and thank God for all the little things and then I think we will be able to see the bigger things!
