Women's Retreat

So this past weekend I went to my second women's retreat!! What a great time!! It was so awesome to spend time with my girlfriends and time alone with God. The food was good too!!!
We had three awesome speakers (all women from our church). One was my friend Tina and she did such as awesome job!! On Saturday morning we had a prayer walk or sit! I took a walk and tried not to get blown away in the wind. It was so neat to just walk and talk with the Lord. Then in the afternoon we were VERY adventerous. Whoever wanted to could do a challenge course. Which there were two things to do. One was a 40 foot pole (like a electrical pole) that you climbed up and then stood up on the top and jumped off and tried to grab a trapeze thingy. Yes, we were all harnessed up and had people with ropes if we happened to fall and catch us when we jumped. My very brave friends made this climb, I on the other hand started, but just couldn't make it to the top. So I (along with my friends) climed a 40 foot cargo net or rock wall to a platform and then went down a zip line! Now this one I did!!! I climbed the cargo net. Wow was that hard!! By the time I got close to the top I didn't know if I was going to make it I was so out of strength. But I was determined and I did it!! ( Also for those of you who are getting nervous about the height I was all harnessed and on a rope in case I toppled off!! Then Crysti and I went zipping down together!! That was so much fun!! It was such an awesome time just to see all the women out there cheering each other on to do these things even if we didn't really know some of them. What an encouragement to see this.

We also had a great time of prayer with our small groups on Sat. evening. It is just so neat to see women opening up to each other and praying for one another. It was a very great weekend, although I am sore from my climb and worn out from all the activies I had to take a nap when I got home!!

I just praise God for all my wonderful friends that were there, they are so special and mean so much to me. I just don't know what I would do without them.

It was an awesome weekend! I thought of you guys all morning!
But I think I came home to be MacKeon's other mommy! He was all sad and clingy when I went into the nursery so I had him and Katie both on my lap missing mommy. And really just any mom wouldn't do, he wouldn't go to anyone else but me - made me feel really good actually!
So yay for us this weekend! Thanks for being my buddy!

Glad you had fun this weekend! We really enjoyed having Mom and Dad visit us in Austin. Take a look at their pictures (maybe it'll tempt you guys to come down next time as well ^_^).
